A Case Report of Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Transfusion-Related Acute Lung Injury

چکیده
Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) is an respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) occurring during or within six hours after transfusion. On the other hand, while inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) temporarily improves arterial oxygenation with selective pulmonary vasodilation, there no evidence of mortality reduction in ARDS. We herein report a case which TRALI was diagnosed severe hypoxemia cardiovascular surgery, and extracorporeal membrane (ECMO) avoided by using iNO for management. Administering to patients failure may be useful as bridging therapy help recover. However, further needed before this treatment can become standard practise.

We report a patient who was suspected of transfusion-related acute lung injury. A 60-year-old man underwent emergency thoracotomy and hemostasis after pneumonectomy. The SpO2, decreased abruptly to 66% 90 minutes after transfusion of packed red blood cells and fresh frozen plasma. He was ventilated with 100% oxygen. The SPO2 returned to 100% in 3 minutes. Postoperative chest radiography showed ...

متن کاملRare antibody-associated hemolytic transfusion reaction and transfusion-related acute lung injury: a case report
BACKGROUND Hemolytic transfusion reactions and transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) are life-threatening complications associated with the transfusion of blood products. Hemorrhage is one of the most common surgical complications and the risk of bleeding is particularly acute in patients with hematologic deficiencies. Management of surgical bleeding can be divided into two phases. The ...
